Cutting a Bagpipe Hole to Sharper Note

This is not something you should carry out unless you are confident in what you are doing and you are positive that it's a problem with the chanter and not the reed.
A note that is consistently flat can be fixed by cutting the TOP of hole that is flat. Remember to take off small amounts because you can't put the wood/plastic back on the chanter and you could easily ruin a chanter.
DO NOT CUT THE ENTIRE HOLE BIGGER OR THE BOTTOM SECTION ONLY THE TOP SECTION.
The image to the right shows when you should cut. You can use a sharp knife to do this. However, the ideal tool for this is called a de-burring tool. Here is a link to buy one if you desire. However, you can probably pick one up at your local hardware store, I know Home Depot carry them.
